The changelog says: * Correct syslinux/extlinux mbr.bin path. Closes: #773833 And looking at the source, this is indeed the change needed to fix this bug. This still leaves it broken in jessie (when combining the jessie versions of live-build and syslinux), but it seems unlikely that this fix will still be be backported now.
