Those are out of date... In order to build jessie successfully you need live-build 4.0.5-1 (which you are already using, so far so good). http://live-systems.org/gitweb/?p=live-build.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/debian-old-4.0 The live-manual version which matches that live-build version is 4.0.3-1 http://live-systems.org/gitweb/?p=live-manual.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/debian-old-4.0

Ok, debian-old-4.0 is a remote branch:

$ git branch -a | grep debian-old

  remotes/origin/debian-old-1.0

  remotes/origin/debian-old-2.0

  remotes/origin/debian-old-3.0

  remotes/origin/debian-old-4.0

I'd better track the branch instead of the tags.
