[PATCH] Old BIOS: start partition at specific place

Some time back in July I've sent a pull request. I'm resending this patch since
I find it quite useful and it took me some effort to find out why I could not
get some computers to start from live-build USB-Sticks.

Is there anything that speaks against including this? If I can improve anything
I'll be happy to do it.
