Re: Minimal debian with full sound support

Thanks for your reply.

What I mean is a distribution that supports most modern sound hardware. Is Alsa enough please?

Your distribution size is great for me. As long as it does not become more than a CD (not DVD) can handle, it is ok for me.

Thanks again

Hi Robert,

I build my own (Voyage MPD) using debian live.  This is not a very trimmed, it still requires ~200-300MB.

Anyway, I don't understand why full sound support mean.  Can you elaborate?

Hi,

I would like to build a minimal debian with full sound support i.e. all the drivers/packages/files needed for a sound support on all (most) hardware.

I do not want network support and internet access.

minimal debian with openbox (or maybe a lighter alternative) and full sound support.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please as to which packages need to be stripped and added and how to do that?

Thanks
