I do apologize if this is the incorrect place to ask this, but I have run into a wall and am stuck at this point.
I have been trying to build a custom Debian LiveCD that can be installed. I have tried the typical tools such as Remastersys, etc, but they have failed to create an ISO that I can boot off of and install (on different hardware than it was
created on). I have been trying to use simple-cdd most recently and have been unable to make the exact LiveCD I want either as I require some sources not in the Debian Wheezy repo. I tried adding all the debs to a local_pkgs folder and adding that to the simple-cdd
config, but it still failed to build with my packages – I am left with the same default ISO (no additions). I again moved on, this time to the live-build tools, but cannot find how to build an installable LiveCD with that either. I have been reading through the (huge) manual for the live-build tools, but have not yet had success. As a last ditch effort I tried using the live builder website, but that failed to create an iso at all. What are my options here? I would love to build an installable LiveCD with the exact tools I want that can be installed on any amd64 platform. So far the test build I have built is really fast and very functional. I really want to get it
out for some people to try out. Thank you, and please let me know if I need to send this elsewhere. PS – I love the work you’re team is doing. With a little more experience under my belt with these tools in particular, I can start assisting with some things. Cheers! Devin Trotter Virtualization Engineer |
