Sorry Daniel, I should probably have told you about it before, my bad :)

The status is as follows, sisu 4.2.5-2 fully supports Japanese and
some other new languages. It has been thoroughly tested in a clean
minimal sid chroot and not so thoroughly but also tested to work in
jessie.

So the only remaining thing to do is to upgrade the autobuild to that
version, which is now available in both "testing" and "sid".

Then someone needs to activate Japanese and I offered myself to do so ;)
