hmm, it gets even stranger then :)
the debian packaging of 6.02~pre5 doesn't build dos executables either
(any version as of 4.01+dfsg-3 from July 2010 does neither build and
include them anymore).
did you change the packaging in anyway? can you reproduce it with a
simple rebuild of the unchanged debian source package?
