to reply to what you said on irc.. the target was squeeze plus proper backport of initramfs which doesn't have /run (like in p-l), so it was no issue. also, in general (and not related to this specific patch), i'm not included to encurage to support 'dirty' backports (by using unmodified sid packages on stable). and there was also a note about that in the commit if i remember correctly. anyhow, will apply later today, thanks.
