Make sure /dev/sdc is *not* mounted first. If it is automounted by your
desktop, unmount it:

umount /dev/sdc

> /dev/sdc" (/dev/sdc - it's USB-Flash Drive)

Don't use cp. Use dd. Note: this will completely wipe the whole contents
of the USB stick. See:

dd if=debian-live-6.0.5-amd64-gnome-desktop.img of=/dev/sdc bs=4M

Not needed here, as it should have been unmounted to begin with.

Once you have properly put the image on your USB stick, you should be
able to boot it successfully.
