Hmm, looking at scripts/live, it looks like kernel command-line
parameter 'toram' can be used to put a copy of the live image into RAM
before continuing boot.  In that case nfs would only be used a short
time during boot.  

Well, that only works, if nfs is used to loop-mount the actual rootfs
From an image file (which looks like it is the default).  Don't know
your actual setup.  Also it depends on you not using 'nfscow'.

Of course you'd also need quite some RAM.  Not very helpful?
