White console background

Hi all

While trying now my first steps with Debian Live and Squeeze, I noticed
that the console background while booting (kernel, init, ...) is *white*
instead of black. This looks rather ugly and broken. Is there a reason
for the white background? How can it be fixed (reverted to black)?
