You didn't report which version of live-magic.  I assume 1.12.

This sounds like it is due to bug #595985 which is resolved in
live-magic 1.13, but it never migrated from Sid to Squeeze due to the
release freeze. It looks like we should request a freeze exception, or
else this RC bug threatens live-magic removal from Squeeze.
