It has not to do with live-helper. It's a tsocks issue. Something related to
"tsocks will not in the above configuration be able to provide SOCKS proxying
to setuid applications or applications that are not run from a shell." (man
tsocks)
You can even set TSOCKS_DEBUG in order to have more useful output. If it
doesn't help you please forward this thread to a proper ${tsocks-users}-like
mailing list.
