live-installer on Squeeze, missing keyboard settings post-install

Hello list

I am facing an issue with live-installer whereby the keyboard
selections chosen during the install process are not being honoured
post-install. I have searched this list to find out more information
and came across Bug#603974: live-installer should depend and use
console-setup-udeb [1]. I have read Daniel's response and noted that a
fix has been applied [2], but the problem still persists on my test
builds. Any helps with resolving this would be greatly appreciated. :)
