for the hooks, it's ok to do everything in one commit. for other stuff
(helpers or so), i'd prefere broken out patches though.

everything except what is needed to do to find the rootfs, mount it,
setup persistency and swap will remain in live-boot (if live-bottom is
needed for that, which is likely to be the case, then there will still
be a live-bottom in live-boot), everything else is (almost completely)
moved to live-config.
