Package: live-helper
Version: 1.0.6-2
Severity: normal

Hello,
I have built some images using the live-helper utilities and all of
them fail. I have used both the lenny and sqeeze versions. I have built the
images in another computer and they work. So there must be some
incompatiblity in this computer.
The problem is that when the X system starts a dialog
appears. I cannot read the dialog says becase only squares
(instead of letters) appear, as if the fonts were broken. I press
ctrl+alt+f1, I can see the command line but as the ordinay user (not
root) but most commands seem to be broken. I have tried to become
  root with no success:
- with su: the system asks for a password
- with sudo:
    sudo -s
    command not found

    /usr/bin/sudo -s
    Permission denied

I can see the /var/log/Xorg.0.log but I cannot see anything wrong
It the file /home/user/.xsession-errors some errors appears, simthing
like (I cannot copy and paste):

/etc/profile: line 4: id: command not fount
/etc/profile: line 4: [: : integer expression expected
/etc/gdm/Xsession: Executing default failed, will try to run x-terminal-emulator
/etc/gdm/Xsession: line 205: exec: x-terminal-emulator: not found

Luis.
