persistence not working

the label casper-rw is for whole filesystem persistence,
start with the debug option in the boot command line and analize the
file /var/log/live.log looking for casper-rw

personally, i discourage the use of whole filesystem persistence, specially in
USB devices because all filesystem write and read operations are done on the
device, and the system becomes very slow,
my advice is try with label home-rw for home directory persistence only,
and remaster a live system with the packages that fit your needs.
