Sure. Run this:
MKSQUASHFS_OPTIONS="-b 64K -no-sparse" lh_config -b iso \
--bootloader syslinux \
--union-filesystem aufs \
--initramfs live-initramfs \
--packages-lists kde-desktop \
--packages \
"lyx"
and then lh_build, and you'll end up with a 'binary.iso' file that
contains a KDE desktop with lyx installed. Or you should, anyways; I
haven't tested this command line myself.
