d-l boots on only one machine (Re: an interesting problem)

It's not clear to me whether you mean "other machines don't boot" or
whether "other people trying to boot the CD fail".  I guess in any
case the boot is unreliable.

This is a result of some missing error message AFAICT.  This happens
when the squashfs/aufs modules aren't available for mounting the root
FS.  However this doesn't explain it in your case since the machine
manages to boot sometimes.  Does this trigger any ideas for you?

You might try booting with some kernel parameters.  The installer
suggests:
	noapic nolapic
	DEBCONF_DEBUG=5
	BOOT_DEBUG=3

If you use grub, the keys are "e", (down), "e", (edit) then later "b"
IIRC and if you use syslinux it will be something like "live noapic".
