Oh. Right. I was not aware of that casper was an alternative to
live-initramfs, nor that it was no longer maintained in Debian.

I'm not quite sure why it is used. It is not installed on the build
host, but is installed by make-live as can be seen from the build log
in
<URL:http://ftp.skolelinux.no/cd-etch-live/edulive-200708020400.log>.

These are the packages installed on the build host:

administrator:~# dpkg -l casper live-initramfs live-helper
Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold
| Status=Not/Installed/Config-files/Unpacked/Failed-config/Half-installed
|/ Err?=(none)/Hold/Reinst-required/X=both-problems (Status,Err: uppercase=bad)
||/ Name                  Version               Description
+++-=====================-=====================-==========================================================
un casper <none> (no description available)
ii live-helper 1.0a19-1.0.edu.etch.1 Debian Live helper programs
ii live-initramfs 1.91.5-1.0.edu.etch.1 Debian Live initramfs hook
administrator:~#

Any ideas how to change the build configuration to use live-initramfs?

Happy hacking,
