Some ideas about Debian Live ...

First !!!

Excuse my poor english ...

I've been working, last two years on Debian Live based distro, called
Xarnoppix.

It works with the addition of "live" mode under initramfs-tools, i think
it's better than Casper, ... a la KISS.

Uses standard debian kernel with squashfs 3.0, latest unionfs snapshoots
and allows multiple persistent changes booting from usb stick.

Take a look at ftp://ftp.serni.net/initrd.img

usuari@debian:~$ mv initrd.img initrd.gz

usuari@debian:~$ gunzip initrd.gz

usuari@debian:~$ ls initrd

initrd

usuari@debian:~$ mkdir INITRD

usuari@debian:~$ cd INITRD/

usuari@debian:~/INITRD$ cpio -i < ../initrd

22854 blocks

usuari@debian:~/INITRD$ ls

bin conf etc init lib modules sbin scripts

Better try downloading
ftp://ftp.caliu.cat/pub/distribucions/xarnoppix/xarnoppix_usb_cd.iso
