Hi, I'm trying to work out why lintian had an issue with the new procps package. There's two odd things about it: 1) The error comes up on the debian FTP server (v2.104.0) but not locally (v2.121.1). I think the relevant file checks/conffiles was last changed 15 years ago. 2) The error is saying the conffile is not in /etc but /etc/sysctl.conf is clearly in that directory. I'm stuck here because I have an error that doesn't make any sense to me. - Craig
The FTP masters have not upgraded lintian on their machine for a long time. That's partly due to conflicts with the last lintian maintainer.
Trying to fix this issue and get the FTP masters to run an up to date lintian version is a goal I have for the Trixie cycle.
If you're not getting the error with the latest lintian release, I don't think there's anything we can do on the lintian side :(
As for now, I guess the only thing you can do is reach out to them about it? -- ⢀⣴⠾⠻⢶⣦⠀ ⣾⠁⢠⠒⠀⣿⡁ Louis-Philippe Véronneau ⢿⡄⠘⠷⠚⠋ pollo@debian.org / veronneau.org ⠈⠳⣄
