Bug#1004231: ancient outdated parts in lintian.txt.gz do reduce trust in docs

Package: lintian
Version: 2.114.0
Severity: minor

Hi,

lintian.txt.gz is full of explanation that features appeared in lintian
2.5, and regularly, libc5 (sic!) is used as an example package.

While an experienced developer notices that the document has been
carefully updated (for example, mentioning
debian/source/lintian-overrides), this might raise suspicion in people
that the document has other parts that are outdated but not this
obviously outdated.

Please consider using more current packages as example and remove
mentions of lintian versions that were released more than a decade ago.

Greetings
Marc
