Merge subindices for orig sources with multiple tarball components.
(Closes: #970750, #971597, #972567)
A family of related bugs appeared when we started unpacking the orig
index. The purpose was to revitaize a group of checks that had been
disabled for the source format 3.0, where no diffstat js available. A
detailed, differential perspective is now possible for all source
formats by comparing the patched and orig indices.
This commit fixes some of the bugs (and some of the most egregious)
but may leave others---including some not yet discovered.
Lintian now completes its runs without errors on the packages
mentioned in the bugs (see below) and also on many Node.js packages,
which were disproportionally affected.
A related merge request on Salsa (!338) also attempted to close these
bugs, but would be less effective in the estimation of this author. It
will be closed without action.
