Package: lintian
Version: 2.97.0
Severity: minor

Hi,

I think we agreed formerly that lintian should not report
package-contains-documentation-outside-usr-share-doc for R packages
since this is the known location of docs for all users and where
users expect it to be.

If I'm not totally misleaded the fact that for instance

I: r-cran-cpp11: package-contains-documentation-outside-usr-share-doc usr/lib/R/site-library/cpp11/NEWS.md
I: r-cran-cpp11: package-contains-documentation-outside-usr-share-doc usr/lib/R/site-library/cpp11/doc/converting.Rmd
I: r-cran-cpp11: package-contains-documentation-outside-usr-share-doc usr/lib/R/site-library/cpp11/doc/converting.html
I: r-cran-cpp11: package-contains-documentation-outside-usr-share-doc ... use --no-tag-display-limit to see all (or pipe to a file/program)

(totally random example - it is reported for every r-* package with
docs) should not be reported. We even installed an automatically
generated lintian-override mechanism in dh-r - but later this was
suppressed by lintian directly.

It would be great if you could switch of this lintian issue.

Thanks a lot for maintaining lintian

       Andreas.
