Trying to run lintian locally against src:mediawiki 1:1.35.0~rc.3-1 never
completed, I ^C'd the lintian command after 3+ hours.
A salsa CI run against a slightly older mediawiki package also failed
because it took more than an hour to run:

I don't know how to figure out if there's an infinite loop somewhere or
something specific to the size of mediawiki is causing problems, but I
really don't expect lintian to take this long.

I cannot reproduce your Lintian experience with the build artifacts
from your failed Salsa job:

Lintian's output with your tags is below. The run completed in about
thirty seconds.
I used the source package from the 'build-source' job in the related pipeline:

although the version number there did not match the version
1:1.35.0~rc.3-1 you gave in your initial report.
There may have been a problem with the setup of Salsa CI pipeline. It
happens sometimes. Please restart the job or the entire pipeline.
