Package: lintian
Version: 2.92.0
Severity: normal

Hi,

I'm using the following ~/.lintianrc file successfully over several
years:

color=always
display-experimental=no
display-info=yes
pedantic=no

Since the last two lintian releases (sorry I did not checked) the
setting

   pedantic=no

seems to be ignored. Lintian displays several pedantic messages. I
tried to seek some NEWS.Debian file about this whether it is an intended
change. I browsed the manpage which tells me that the XDG location

   .config/lintian/lintianrc

should be prefered. I moved ~/.lintianrc to this location with no
success. The manpage says about pedantic tags
   "They are normally suppressed."
so I should not even need to force the suppression.

So I think that's a bug in lintian and thus I'm reporting this here.

Thanks for lintian in general. Its a great and really helpful tool.

Kind regards

       Andreas.
