As I understand it, you are proposing two interrelated changes here:

  a) Renaming the existing concept of severity (eg. error/warning/
     pedantic, etc.) to "visibility".

  b) Dropping the certainty concept entirely (eg. wild guess, possible
     etc.)

Have I understood you correctly here?
