Exactly; I was pointing it out to myself or the "next person" who also perhaps didn't immediately spot all that whitespace.

A quick glance at src:dpkg's changelog suggests #843248 is a good
place to start but I'll have to redirect you to the dpkg
maintainers on this angle.
