I think so many overrides are somewhat self-evident that this would
result in so many false-positives that this would just be too annoying.

And that would be even if we started "from scratch" and encouraged this
from the start of Lintian - we have an archive full of mostly uncommented
overrides at this point that might be too big a ship to turn around at
this point.
