Package: lintian Severity: wishlist Please add a tag for URLs in the following files below that are http instead of https for sites that are known to support https. I have included a list of sites that support https below but it might be a better idea to apply the rulesets from the https-everywhere Iceweasel plugin rather than hard-coding a list of domains. You would need the plugin maintainer to split the rulesets out into a separate package since it would be a bit weird to have lintian enable an Iceweasel plugin in everyone's browsers :) debian/control debian/upstream debian/copyright debian/upstream-metadata.yaml debian/upstream/metadata debian/patches/* debian/watch github.com *.github.com *.github.io launchpad.net *.launchpad.net *.debian.org except *.qa.debian.org ftp.debian.org ftp.*.debian.org *.cypherpunks.ca *.googlecode.com *.google.com *.mozilla.org sugarlabs.org *.sugarlabs.org fedorahosted.org cpan.metacpan.org hackage.haskell.org pypi.python.org cheeseshop.python.org *.gnu.org except gcc.gnu.org rubyforge.org *.apache.org download.gnome.org bitbucket.org *.gnome.org except ftp.gnome.org forge.ocamlcore.org savannah.nongnu.org except download.savannah.nongnu.org git.kernel.org www.kernel.org wiki.kernel.org www.wiki.kernel.org mirrors.kernel.org rostlab.org download.qt-project.org gforge.inria.fr *.jboss.org *.enlightenment.org java.net *.java.net samba.org *.samba.org -- bye, pabs http://wiki.debian.org/PaulWiseAttachment: signature.asc

Hi Paul, > warn about non-https URLs for known https-capable URLs So, as we now do this for debian/watch, Homepage, Vcs-* etc and all the places it "really" matters, I'm going to close this report: I'd rather not maintain a list of sites that have known HTTPS support - we might as well just warn on *every* non-SSL reference in 2017. Naturally, if we are missing somewhere important in packaging right now that does not warn for HTTP URIs, please open another issue for each instance. :) Regards, -- ,''`. : :' : Chris Lamb `. `'` lamby@debian.org / chris-lamb.co.uk `-
