Bug#831449: lintian on Sid amd64 reports volatile false spelling errors in binaries
Hi,
possibly the false positives are not volatile but rather my overrides
are interpreted differently between local Sid and lintian.debian.org.
The problem of reading mangled strings from binaries remains.
------------------------------------------------------------------
While processing the other lintian complaints i notice that on
lintian.debian.org all spelling-error-in-binary of libisoburn1 are
reported as "O". Among them is a complaint about "lengH".
So possibly something is wrong with my debian/libisoburn1.lintian-overrides
which is meant to be essentially:
libisoburn1 binary: spelling-error-in-binary *libisoburn.so* paramters parameters
libisoburn1 binary: spelling-error-in-binary *libisoburn.so* Allow to Allow one to
libisoburn1 binary: spelling-error-in-binary *libisoburn.so* ment meant
libisoburn1 binary: spelling-error-in-binary *libisoburn.so* lengH length
Complete file:
http://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/pkg-libburnia/trunk/libisoburn/debian/libisoburn1.lintian-overrides?revision=381&view=markup
If one of the rules covers all typos, then "lengH" is indeed unused.
But how come ?
(And why does local lintian not find the typos "Programm", "someting"
which are rightly reported by lintian.debian.org ?
Locally i run:
lintian -I -E --color never --show-overrides | less
)
------------------------------------------------------------------
Have a nice day :)
Thomas
