Bug#816455: lintian: old-style-config-script must not suggest 'Multi-Arch: no'
Package: lintian
Version: 2.5.41
Severity: important
`lintian-info --tags old-style-config-script' displays amongst others the
following information:
N: Using this kind of system to pass compile file is obsolete and will
N: likely introduce bugs in a multi-arch system. Particularly, this kind
N: of script could only belong to Multi-Arch: no package
However packages with `Multi-Arch: no' are rejected by dak - see
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=816213#10
It looks like I am not the only maintainer that get fooled by
the above info:
robert@coccia:/srv/ftp-master.debian.org/queue/reject$ grep Multi-Arch *reason | grep -v afterstep
libsdl1.2_1.2.15+dfsg1-1_amd64.changes.reason:libsdl1.2-dev_1.2.15+dfsg1-1_amd64.deb: Multi-Arch: no support in Debian is broken (#768353)
ucommon_6.6.2-2_amd64.changes.reason:libucommon-dev_6.6.2-2_amd64.deb: Multi-Arch: no support in Debian is broken (#768353)
Oh, the maintainer of libsdl1.2 says this explicitly:
http://metadata.ftp-master.debian.org/changelogs/main/libs/libsdl1.2/libsdl1.2_1.2.15+dfsg1-2_changelog
But to be honest I have no idea why this tag is produced for
packages that have no Multi-Arch field at all, which implies that
that are `Multi-Arch: no' already...
Regards,
Robert
