reason why i'd claim this check to be incorrect - it encourages some maintainers to escape only a subset of characters. then, if the check is fixed, you will again have a huge list of non-conforming packages, and maintainers will go "what do you mean, we fixed it years ago". the problem will be unlikely to ever be eradicated :) -- Rich
