Bug#760634: lintian: add xfce4-dev-tools / xdt-autogen for updating config.{guess,sub}
Hi Yves-Alexis!
* Yves-Alexis Perez <corsac@debian.org>, 2014-09-06, 12:55:
lintian has checks for “correct” dates of config.{guess,sub} in the
source package, especially for support for newer architectures.
I didn't check but I guess it drops the warning in case debian/rules
use autoreconf command or dh applet, since then the files will be
updated at build time.
Not quite. Lintian has a list of packages that can be used for updating
config.{sub,guess} (see data/cruft/autotools), and it optimistically
assumes that if you have any of these in Build-Depends, then your
d/rules takes care of updating the files.
Can xdt-autogen (from xfce4-dev-tools package) be added to the list of
commands dropping the warning? The command does the job of updating
autotools files (plus some Xfce specific stuff).
Don't you need to put automake in Build-Depends to be able to use
xdt-autogen? That should be enough to satisfy Lintian.
