Bug#660675: lintian: %EMBEDDED_LIBRARIES needs new case for tiff3
Package: lintian
Version: 2.5.4
Severity: wishlist
X-Debbugs-CC: qjb@debian.org
In /usr/share/lintian/checks/binaries, the hash %EMBEDDED_LIBRARIES
contains a list of strings to search for an the source package that
"owns" the library that contains the strings. Now that tiff-3.x is in
the new tiff3 source package while tiff-4.x is in the tiff source
package, lintian gives an error for the libtiff4 package:
libtiff4: embedded-library usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libtiff.so.4.3.6: tiff
Of course, libtiff4 *is* the tiff library. Adding an exception for the
tiff3 source package should do the trick, though I haven't tested it.
Feel free to disregard this request -- the tiff3 source package won't
live that long (hopefully just wheezy -- I plan to have it removed
once we finish the tiff-4 transition), and I can work around it in the
one package using a lintian override (which I'm already doing).
