Bug#682022: lintian: embedded library regular expression for libmysqlclient will need updating
Package: lintian
Version: 2.5.8
Severity: wishlist
Dear Maintainer,

* What led up to the situation?
The Debian MySQL team has decided to move to an unversioned source package:
"mysql".
I guess the simplest thing is simply to wait until the new source package hits
unstable and then reduced the regular expression accordingly. At that point
I would raise the priority of the bug to normal. In the meantime a bug report
number to tag the lintian overrides in the "mysql" package is a really good idea
so I can keep track of the issue. I would understand if the bug was tagged
"wontfix" until it really becomes an issue.
However if in the meantime you could make the regular expression handle either "mysql" or
"mysql-\d\.\d" that would be really nice.
