Bug#617266: lintian: should not detect README.html as a doc to be registered with doc-base
Package: lintian
Version: 2.4.3
Severity: wishlist
Hello,
I have a package [1] with a README.html, which is an HTML version of a
regular README. Lintian detects it as a document to be registered with
doc-base. I think this is incorrect, because README files are not
supposed to be registered, and the fact that one is in HTML format
should not change that.

Could you add a check to exclude README.*, NEWS.* and changelog.* from
the possible-documentation-but-no-doc-base-registration check?
Regards,
