Package: dput
Version: 0.9.2.9
Severity: wishlist

hi!

when a package is built by mistake with a broken email address, eg:
"Foo <bar@debian.org", Gnupg will have no problem to sign it because
almost any substring is ok for gnupg (which is intended).

if dput uploads such a package to auric, the "ACCEPTED" message generated
from Katie will bounce around, and the result seems to be annoying the
admins :>. so i think it'd be a good thing if dput refused to upload
a package with malformed email address unless the user explicitly requests
to do so.

thanks

   * checks/deb-format{,.desc}:
     + [RA] New check for the format of *.deb ar archives. Most cases will

     + [RA] Fix Perl warnings triggered by missing fields in the control
       file of a binary package.
   * lib/Tags.pm:

       tag.  (Closes: #507278)
     + [RA] Record statistics for certainty correctly.
     + [RA] Canonicalize the extra tag information once and pass it as a

     + [RA] Fix override checking with extra tag information that Perl
