Package: lintian Version: 1.23.45 Severity: normal Hi would be nice if lintian could check for some idiotic upstream problems too. A nice example where it can help is http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=472111 So one check would be to look for usage of PWD (should be CURDIR), especially if there is no PWD=$something before it. Of course that applies for packages not using auto* bah to get their Makefiles, but it will help. And one could add more such checks later. -- bye, Joerg Some NM: Essential packages are required to provide all of their core functionality even when unconfigured, hence they cannot require libc. Libc therefore is not an essential package.
