Bug#470403: lintian: /var/www
Package: lintian
Version: 1.23.46~bpo40+1
Severity: normal
Hi
please issue an E:, or at least W:, on packages having files or links in
/var/www.
Its a standard reject for me in NEW, with a reason similar to
+++---+++
rejected, please remove the var/www link to usr/share. Its a policy/fhs
violation to have stuff there *and* it actually doesn't work on many
systems. Its wrong to assume var/www is ok. The better way is to setup
httpd config snippets for the most common httpds we have that enable the
/something to go somewhere sane. See about all the other packages that have
such stuff how to do it, please
+++---+++
but you might want some better english for it :)
