Package: lintian Version: 1.23.30 Severity: wishlist Hi, Please error on package maintainer scripts poking at the dpkg «/var/lib/dpkg/status» file. They should be using dpkg-query instead. I just sent a mail to debian-devel asking people to fix this, but a lintian error is going to be more effective. ;) Sorry for not providing a patch, I hope to have time and submit one this week. thanks, guillem
