Package: lintian Version: 1.23.30 Severity: minor The doc-base-file-no-format check fails if the doc-base file has empty lines at the end. Aparently it believes them to be an extra section, which lacks a Format: field. This causes a (mildly) confusing error message. I think lintian should check independently for such mistake and report it as its own error (warning?) kind. Alternatively, you could reword this check's verbose explanation, perhaps something along the lines of: N: A format section of this doc-base control file didn't specify a N: format. Each section after the first must specify a format. N: This error can also be caused by a useless run of empty lines in N: the control-file. N: N: Refer to Debian doc-base Manual section 2.3.2.2 for details. -- Rodrigo Gallardo GPG-Fingerprint: 7C81 E60C 442E 8FBC D975 2F49 0199 8318 ADC9 BC28
