lintian by design doesn't refer to any external sources of information.
This is a requirement for stability of results: the same version of
lintian (with the same version of dependencies) run on the same package
always returns the same result.  There is certainly a place for other QA
tools that don't have this restriction, but for lintian we've made a
conscious choice to restrict it to standalone package checking.

I've saved all the bugs filed against lintian in this category tagged
wontfix so that others can work on other tools, or so that later
maintainers can change their mind.  I'll do the same with this one.
