Hello,
I'm building the new roostrap and:

$ lintian rootstrap_0.3.23-1_i386.deb
E: rootstrap: python-script-but-no-python-dep ./usr/bin/rootstrap
E: rootstrap: python-script-but-no-python-dep ./usr/lib/rootstrap/builder

but

$ dpkg -I rootstrap_0.3.23-1_i386.deb|grep Dep
 Depends: python, debootstrap (>= 0.1.16.4), dpkg (>= 1.9.19), user-mode-linux

and 

$ grep python rootstrap-0.3.23/{rootstrap,builder}
rootstrap-0.3.23/rootstrap:#!/usr/bin/env python
rootstrap-0.3.23/builder:#!/usr/bin/python
