dh_installinit called "exit 0" instead of "exit $?" for invoke-rc.d and /etc/init.d/ calls. Debhelper was changed to detect the buggy generated script fragments. But dh_installinit also adds the following: update-rc.d apmd remove >/dev/null || exit 0 Those could be detected too, though I suspect that the same set of packages will be affected.
