I just got bit by this on a package I was preparing to try and get sponsored. While I agree that lintian shouldn't be required to check the .orig.tar.gz, it should at least warn of an empty .diff.gz That at least indicates that the maintainer screwed something up, since any non-native package will have a .diff.gz associated with it, and it being empty ought to set of a flag to lintian. -Roberto -- Roberto C.
