indeed, fixed it in trunk/

jvw and I spotted this already but we hadn't decided yet if we work
around dpkg's new cleverness or just remove the test.

Cool. 1.22.12 should be ready soon ;)

And when I get the udeb support fully working we have to think 
about 1.23.0.
