Package: lintian
Version: 1.23.2
Severity: normal

I get the following lintian error messages:
E: libxml2-python2.3: changelog-not-compressed-with-max-compression changelog.Debian.gz
E: libxml2-python2.3: changelog-not-compressed-with-max-compression changelog.gz

for the libxml2-python2.3 package available on
http://glandium.org/debian/experimental/

What happens is that both changelog.Debian.gz and changelog.gz are symlinks
to their counterpart in /usr/share/doc/libxml2, where the files
actually exist, but in the package libxml2, not in the package
libxml2-python2.3.

Mike

PS: The point about symlinking each file instead of symlinking the directory
like i did for libxml2-utils and libxml2-dev is that the TODO file in
libxml2-python2.3 is not the same as in libxml2, thus needing to have it
apart. The main plot was to remove the (big) upstream changelog.gz from the
several packages to save space on the archive.
While at it, I symlinked the other redundant files.

1.3.22. Check the depends for that (Closes: #261890)
