Bug#275124: lintian gets confused by comments in shlibs control files
Package: lintian
Version: 1.23.2
Severity: normal
lintian seems to get confused about comments in shlib control files.
Section 8.6.3 of the policy states:
Each `shlibs' file has the same format. Lines beginning with `#' are
considered to be comments and are ignored. Each line is of the form:
<library-name> <soname-version-number> <dependencies ...>
I have a multiline comment in one of my .shlibs files because the
dependencies look like they might be wrong but are really correct.
When I run lintian, I get the following errors and warnings:
E: libxercesicu26: duplicate-entry-in-shlibs-control-file #
E: libxercesicu26: duplicate-entry-in-shlibs-control-file #
E: libxercesicu26: duplicate-entry-in-shlibs-control-file #

E: libxercesicu26: duplicate-entry-in-shlibs-control-file #
W: libxercesicu26: unused-shlib-entry-in-control-file #
Oops. :-)
